STEERED MOLECULAR DYNAMICS
Aug 16, 2020
Streptococcus pyogenes is formidable colonizer of human epithelium. One of the reason is the presence of covalent bonds in the pili proteins that prevents the mechanical unfolding during the adhesion. This bond is the isopeptide bond, which is made between the side chain of a Lysine and Asparigine residue.
GRABBING SINGLE MOLECULES

One of the Very first single molecule recording on SOPHIA after of reassembly at the CGB Univ Mayor. Protein: I10 titin domain.
TRACKING A SINGLE BEAD
July 12, 2019
How molecules diffuse inside the cell? Using a small speaker, a Petri dish and two cell phones–for tracking and video recording–, we calculated the diffusion coefficient for the red particle (bead). We use a short MatLab routine to track the red bead along the video. Video and MatLab script developed with the help of Romina Muñoz at SMAT-C USACH. Check files above.

THESIS ON TITIN ELASTICITY
Muscles are made of three main filaments: actin, myosin, and titin. Whereas the first two generate active contractile work, titin determinates the elasticity of the sarcomere. We are looking for highly motived student to join the lab on the exciting field of titin elasticity. Download the ad for more the details.
MT STEP COUNTER
Software based on Igor (v7) for importing and fitting data collected on MT experiments. The panel allow to navigate through the trace recording the step size and the time of the event. Also allows to visualize consolidated step size distributions from the (un)folding events present on the recordings.
